Local man Andrew Brennan was diagnosed with MND a few years ago at the age of 31 – and he fronted the 2016 MND Awareness Campaign, which raised €150,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Since the campaign, Andrew’s condition deteriorated and he was left needing a specially adapted car to allow him to keep his independence.
Through extensive fundraising, Andrew got that car however is facing a new problem – the local roads.
He says that due to the state of the local roads in his area of Cavan, he can’t actually use the car in many instances.
Andrew joined Caroline Gauley on The Wider View to share his story and started by explaining what a difficult journey it was to get the car in the first place:
