The need of a family resource centre in Cootehill was highlighted in the Seanad yesterday afternoon.
A number of people from the community were present at Leinster House to highlight their calls for a resource centre in the town.
Senator Joe O'Reilly called on the government to deliver the service and highlighted the positive impact that it would have on the town.
He highlighted that there is an available premises in the old Bank of Ireland building, and that there is support from all the relevant agencies.
The senator, along with delegates from Cootehill, discussed the issue with Minister Norma Foley this week.
