Fianna Fail's PJ O'Hanlon had raised his concerns over a lack of LIS funding (Local Improvement Scheme).
Yesterday, the members of Monaghan County Council discussed the issue of LIS funding during this month's meeting. Cllr O'Hanlon stated that they have slashed funding by up to 40%. Raising concerns that people from across the county will suffer as a result.
There are 253 applicants this year, despite this, 29 roads remain on historic lists from 2017/18 and must be cleared before new applications are worked on. Jodie Curran spoke with Cllr O'Hanlon earlier and began by asking him to outline his concerns in relation to this latest development:
