Listen Back: End of an era at West Cavan Teddy bear hospital. The beloved Teddy Bear Hospital just outside Bawnboy will be closing its doors at the end of this year.
The owner, Anke Morgenroth, has confirmed she'll be retiring from the business; after a number of decades operating in West Cavan. Bear Essentials and the Teddy Bear Hospital will be no more unless someone can be found to carry on the magic.
Anke said she will be closing the doors on the 31st of December 2025. She described the decision as not being easy.

Anke revealed the news on the Wider View programme earlier today where she described the decision to retire as a very bittersweet moment when she spoke in detail to Ronan Gargan.
