Seamus McDonagh, from Enfield in Co Meath, was once the 9th ranked Heavyweight boxer in the world.
Aged 27, he fought legendary Evander 'Real Deal' Holyfield and was promised that if he won, he would earn $25 million in his next fight.
But he was defeated by Holyfield, and in his next fight, he suffered brain damage and was forced into retirement.
With his career over, he became depressed and suicidal and said that the only thing he lived for was drinking.
