In the most recent poll Ireland ranked 81st out of 190 countries when it comes to the inclusion of women in politics.
While this is not the bottom of the table there is still a need to continue to push forward encouraging women to stand for election and get involved in politics. Remember, that to date Ireland has never had a female Taoiseach and only 30% of the Seanad are female.
