With the inter-county season now complete for Monaghan the attention has turned to the club championship with the draws taking place last night at the monthly county board meeting. All eyes were on the current senior county and Ulster champions Scotstown as they were in Group 1 and have been joined by Latton, Inniskeen, Carrickmacross and Corduff. Group 2 consists of Magheracloone, Truagh, Clontibret, Cremartin and Castleblayney.
In the intermediate Grade, Aughnamullen, Killanny, Tyholland, Donaghmoyne and Clones make up Group 1 while Ballybay, Eire Og, Monaghan Harps, Doohamlet and Emyvale are in group 2. Toome, Oram, Scotstown, Sean Mc Dermotts, Rockcorry and Aghabog are Group 1 of the Junior championship with Drumhowan, Currin, Truagh, Killeevan and Blackhill making up Group 2. The opening round of games in the championship are scheduled for the week ending 8th/9th of August
