This years All Ireland football final will take place a week before Christmas on Saturday the 19th of December.
At a press conference this morning the Association revealed their inter-county fixtures plan for the remainder of the year.
Their will be no back door in the championship with all games including the provincial finals finishing on the day via extra time and penalties if required.
The inter-county season will return on the weekending October 17/18th with Round 6 of the National league followed by round 7 the following week, before the provincial championship gets underway on the last weekend in October, with a straight knock out format.
Training for inter-county teams will commence on Monday the 14th of September.
Club championships will finish at county level with no provincial or All Ireland series
In hurling the senior championship final will take place on Sunday the 13th of December.
Draws have also been made for the secondary hurling competitions
In the Christy Ring cup, Roscommon will take on Wicklow
While the Nicky Rackard cup will see Monaghan taking on Mayo, while Leitrim face Armagh and Longford are up against Donegal.
Those games will take place on the weekend of the 24/25th of October
The Lory Meagher cup retains its existing format this year, while it is also noted that if travel restrictions make impossible for overseas teams to participate, the competition structures will be reviewed.
