Monaghan have secured division one status for at least another year following a 2-14 to 1-17 draw with Meath at Clones.

A draw was sufficient after Mayo suffered a 3-14 to 1-19 defeat against Tyrone leaving Monaghan a point clear of the relegation zone.

An improved second half from the Royal County saw them claim a share of the spoils having trailed by 1-7 to seven points at the break.
