World title for Carrickmacross Kick boxer

At the World Kick boxing championships in Italy, there has been local success with Sarah Hanratty claiming a world title. The Carrickmacross club member won 4 fights over 4 days against competitors from India, Germany Italy and the reigning Croatian champion to claim the title for herself. Sarah follows in the footsteps of another former world champion Christina Mc Mahon also from Carrickmacross who became Irelands first professional female boxer having been a kickboxing champion back in 2007.
