A TD has said we "are blind to what is happening and could happen" in meat plants and the communities they are in.
Bríd Smith has called for an investigation into outbreaks of Covid-19 in plants around the country.
She highlighted the high rate of infection in Cavan and Monaghan saying the close proximity of the border and clusters in meat plants could be to blame.

Cavan remains the county with the highest incidence rate in the country with Monaghan following with the third highest rate.
She's called for the Government to launch an investigation into the pattern of outbreaks in the country's meat facilities.
