A man who recently moved to Emyvale says finding a GP is "harder than winning the euro millions."
Paul Green and his wife made the move from Mullingar to Emyvale, and while the pair have found love with the Monaghan area, finding a GP has proved to be extremely problematic.
After failing to secure a GP in the Emyvale area, Paul was advised to go into Monaghan town and after trying a number of GPs the same issue occurred.
As result, Paul was then advised to go back to his GP in Mullingar until the situation was rectified, a trip that would take him 240 kilometres.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier today, Paul warned those who are planning to move to another area to be "mindful" over the lack of GPs and patient spaces in local surgeries.
He believes there is a certain "discrimination" aspect to the situation also.
