Cavan will take to the field in Kingspan Breffni tomorrow (Sat), looking to retain their Division 2 status, looking to avoid the drop and having a very faint hope of promotion.
This Division has proven to be very tight, only 1 point separating Clare in 6th place and Armagh in 2nd spot.
Roscommon are top of the table on 9 points, with a win or draw enough for them to claim the title. They could afford to lose, but would then be looking at other results to go in their favour to ensure their promotion.
As noted the Orchard county are in 2nd spot on 7 points and they take on Clare on 6 points. A win for either side keeps them well in the promotion hunt and it is similar for Cavan as a win for them would bring them towards the top of the table and if Clare were to beat Armagh and Kildare over come Westmeath, 3 teams would move onto 8 points, and scoring difference would become a deciding factor.
Of more concern for Cavan mind you is the drop, as Laois who are on 5 points and in the relegation spot take on the already relegated Fermanagh. A win for the midlanders would move them to 7 points and out of trouble, and leave Kildare, Cavan and Clare looking to make sure they can favourable results to avoid going down with the Ernesiders.
It what is an incredibly tight division every score will prove important, with the possibility of it been decided in the last kick of the game across a number of grounds.
