Co Cavan cancer survivor uses her 'voice' to inspire others. A Co Cavan woman is on a mission to spread the important message that there's "life after cancer." Anne Taylor, from Munterconnaught, was part of the 'Sea of Change choir' who made it through to the finals of 'Ireland's Got Talent' back in 2019.
In 2017 Anne had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour on her throat. As a result of the surgery, Anne also lost half of her thyroid. This meant there was a strong possibility that she would have no voice afterwards. Despite this, not only did Anne defy the odds; but she has since used her voiced to inspire others and spread the message that there is "life after cancer." The talented choir which is made up of cancer survivors and people who have been impacted by cancer; performed this month in the National Concert Hall. The performance raised funds for the charity - Aoibheann's Pink Tie.
Jodie Curran spoke with Anne about her journey so far as a cancer survivor. Anne also spoke about why it's important for her to use her voice and inspire others:
