Josh McClorey on Cavan Arts Festival returning for its eighth year. Cavan Arts Festival returning for its eighth year, transforming Cavan Town into a vibrant hub of artistic expression. The Festival opens today, Thursday, 15th May and runs until Sunday, 18th May.
This four-day, artist-led celebration, promises an eclectic mix of music; theatre; dance; visual arts; comedy, circus, and workshops, offering something for everyone.
Centred around the iconic Big Top Tent in Con Smith Park, the festival will also feature performances and installations across various venues, including Cavan's famous Townhall Arts Centre.
One of the shows, the Sound of Time Flying, a powerful tribute to Cavan's vibrant artistic soul, Inspired by Dermot Healy's evocative poem. Legendary guitarists Josh McClorey and Daragh Slacke, along with a who's who of Cavan musicians, will be bringing infectious sounds to the stage, on Friday, 16th May at 8.30pm in Townhall Cavan.
