Formerly of 27 Glenview Drive, Killygoan, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan,

Bernadette (Bernie) Eardley (née Swift) died on Wednesday 21st January 2026, peacefully in Drumbear Nursing Home, Monaghan, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Myles, her parents; Eugene and Alice Swift, her brother Tony and her sister Maureen O'Donoghue.
Cherished and much loved mother of Brian (Norma) and Janice. Bernie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter, son, daughter-in-law, adored grandchildren; Aoibhe and Kara, her siblings; Eugene (Anna), Brian (Tawnie), Eilish (John Cagney), Martin (Imelda) and Gerry (Susie), sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbours and by all who knew and loved Bernie.

Bernie will repose at Martin's Family Room, Newbliss, H18C962 on Thursday evening (22nd) from 4pm to 8pm.

Bernie's Funeral Mass will take place in St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan on Saturday 24th at 11am, followed by Cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1pm.
