John O’Neill passed away peacefully on 26th February 2026
Predeceased by his parents James and Mary O’Neill, and his brothers; Patrick and Andrew (Joan).
John will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers; Jimmy (Chrissie R.I.P.), Ballyhaise, and Brendan (Carol Ann), Canada, his sister Maureen, Cavan, sister-in-law Barbara, Canada, and his nieces and nephews in Ireland and Canada: Shane, Ciaran, Mary, Irene, Jane, Andrea, Teresa, Rachel, James, Katelyn, Seán, Jennifer and Brendan Jr., as well as extended family and friends.
Special recognition and sincere thanks to cousins Teresa Rowe (Martin) and Terence O’Neill, Portsmouth, UK, who were nearby to give their kind support and assistance to John, particularly during his final illness in Hammersmith.
Heartfelt thanks also to Marie, regarded by the family as an exemplary friend and devoted carer to John for many years, assisting him with cooking, cleaning, shopping and daily errands when he was unable.
The family would also like to acknowledge with gratitude John’s medical team and the palliative care workers for their dedicated care.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road Cavan, on Sunday from 6.00pm until 7.30pm.
Requiem Mass on Monday at 11.00am in St Mary’s Church, Ballyhaise, Interment afterwards in St Patrick's Cemetery, Castletara.
