John Smith passed away peacefully on Saturday, 4th October 2025 at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his wife, Peggy; parents, Jack and Margaret Smith; brother, Benny; sister, Anna May and, most recently, his sister, Eileen.
Sadly missed by his daughter, Martina (Mark) Grant. Adored by his grandchildren, Chantel (Daniel), Jade (Lewis), Kaithlyn (Liam) and Zoe (Jeggs). Loved by his three adoring great-grandchildren, Harry, Shea and Kai. Deeply regretted by his brothers, Andy and Phil; sisters, Kathleen, Bridie and Madge; his good neighbour; Leo, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Sunday from 4.00pm until 6.00pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday morning at 11.30am to St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
