Mary McDonnell (née Ward) passed away on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. Peacefully, after a short illness, in the company of her two daughters and Sr Derbhla.
Together again with her best friend and beloved husband Leo; also predeceased by her parents Michael and Rose, and brothers Jim and Packie.
Cherished mother of her two heartbroken daughters AnnMarie and Catherine, and a dear friend to AnnMarie’s partner Emmet. Remembered with love by all her family: sisters Alice McMahon (Castleblayney) and Tessie Slinger (Melbourne); brothers Mickey (Drumhowan) and Phil (Drumlane); sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Mary will repose at the home she shared with AnnMarie, 14 Ashview Court (A75 PT89), tomorrow, Thursday, from 4pm until 8pm, and again on Friday from 4pm until 8pm.
Removal on Saturday morning (driving) at 9:30am from Ashview Court to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney (via McGrath Road, Muckno Street, and Main Street) for Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by burial alongside her dear husband Leo in the adjoining cemetery.
