Míceál Greenan passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th 2025, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents, Josie and Eilish Greenan; and his sister, Mary.
Dearly loved by his heartbroken family: devoted wife, Carmel; children, Sonia, Cara, Aoife (Philip), Michael (Claire) and Donal (Alanna). Sadly missed by his adored grandchildren, Breanna, Grace, Conall, Cormac, Bródaí and Liam. Remembered by his brother, Eamonn (Toronto) (Barbara); sister, Noreen Fitzpatrick; nephews, nieces and all his extended family. Deeply regretted by his extensive GAA family, his former Trade Union associates, his former Cavan County Council colleagues, his good neighbours and a very wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821), on Sunday evening from 4pm until 7pm. Míceál's remains will leave the Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10.30am, travelling via his home in Drumconnick, to arrive at the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan for a Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, the cortege will travel to Cullies Cemetery for committal prayers and burial. Family flowers only please; donations in lieu to the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland via their website or donation box in the Funeral Home.
