Michael (Mickey) Holland died peacefully on Friday, 23rd January 2026, in the tender and loving care of the nurses and staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney, and surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents, Bridget and Michael; sisters, Ann and Marie; and brother, PJ.
Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken family, his loving wife, Nuala; sons, Declan (Wendie) and Paul (Eileen); and his cherished grandson, Jamie; sister, Vera; brothers, Martin and Gerard; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Michael will repose at Wards Funeral Home, Castleblayney (A75 NP30) on Sunday from 3.00pm until 6.00pm. Michael’s funeral cortège will travel from the family home in Drumalish on Monday at 1:30pm to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for Funeral Mass at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to the Carrickmacross (Cloughvalley) Alzheimer’s Society Day Care Centre or the Lorgan Unit, St. Mary’s Hospital, c/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box.
