Patrick Cooney died on Friday February 27th, 2026, peacefully in the loving care of his family and staff at College View nursing home.
Predeceased by his parents; Ellen and Francis Cooney and his brothers; James, Oliver and Philip, and his nephew Niall. Patrick will be sadly missed by his sister Teresa Keogh, Rock Cross, Cavan Town, brother-in-law Edmund, nieces; Finola, Deirdre, Niamh and Niamh’s husband Jack, grandnieces; Sadhbh, Iseult and Laoise, cousins, neighbours and many Friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home, Cootehill (H16 FD25) on Sunday evening from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock. Removal leaving Mullen’s Funeral Home on Monday Morning, to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Cootehill for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial following Mass in the family plot in Carrickallen cemetery.
