€1 million is has been announced for two regeneration projects in Cavan and Monaghan.
The funding comes under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
€787,500 will go towards the development of a carpark and public realm works in Kingscourt.
It will be focused on the regeneration of the town centre.
The regeneration of the Market Square in Castleblayney is to receive €295,000.
It will also be used to prepare plans to complete the restoration of the Market House in the town.
The announcement has been welcomed by Minister Heather Humphreys who said it will come as a significant boost for the local communities and will contribute to economic development and recovery.
