News of the approval of a new drug for people with Cystic Fibrosis is being welcomed locally.
Symkevi will be available to people with a certain genetic form of CF. A deal between the HSE and manufacturer Vertex will see the drug be available to Irish people.
Cystic fibrosis is a common inherited disease that affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, leading to frequent and severe infections.
