One local man is on a journey of over 10,000 km's on his motor bike in aid of three Cavan charities.
The destination is Nordkapp in Norway, which is the most northerly point on mainland Europe. Jonny Doyle began is three week journey earlier today with the plan of camping or wild-camping throughout his fundraising efforts.
On average most days will need to be up on 700km covered with no rest days at all. To date his go fund me has raised over €7000 for charity. 100% of the proceeds will go evenly to 3 charities and they are Féileacáin, Cuan Centre, and SOSAD, Cavan.
Jonny says he knows the great work that all three organisations do first hand. The Cavan resident also has a Ireland flag with him with over 200 names of the loved ones of people from all over Cavan on the flag and when he gets to the monument at Nordkapp, He is going to read aloud all those names.
