1,547 cars failed the NCT test in first two months of 2026 in Monaghan.
While 1,381 cars passed the test at the Monaghan test centre, more cars from the 2,928 vehicles tested failed than passed.
In Cavan, 1,393 vehicles failed the test and again less cars than that number at 1,225 passed at the Cavan centre.
2,973 cars failed the test during the same two months of January and February of this year in the Kells test centre. Of the 5,804 cars tested there, 2,831 passed the test over the two month period.
Overall the local centres averaged out at around the 47% pass rate during this period. Across all three centres there were 892 dangerous failures. Kells recorded the highest amount of those at 484.
