17 people are due in court this morning in connection with a number of recent robberies in North Dublin. Gardai say a total of 38 charges are being brought.
Stephanie Rohan reports: "These arrests are part of ongoing investigation into thefts from homes and shops in North Dublin. One strand of it is Operation Thor which is a garda initiative targeting robberies from homes during winter.
"Another part of it is Operation Tairge - which focuses on organised retail crime. This is where gangs steal items from shops and then resell them on the black market. In total, 16 people and one child have been arrested - they're facing 38 charges between them and are all due in court this morning."
