A total of 212 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices have been issued since speed cameras were first installed on the N3 in October.
The number of notices issued comes as Gardaí are set to introduce average speed cameras on the N2 near Slane in Co Meath this Friday. The current fixed charge notice is a €160 fine accompanied by three penalty points.
Gardaí use Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to record the time, date and location with anyone detected speeding being issued a fine. The County Cavan camera site was one of the first roads outside of Dublin to have the infrastructure installed.
