The road in Carrickaderry at Clontibret in Co Monaghan remains closed this afternoon after a road traffic collision in the early hours of this morning claimed the life of a teenage boy.
The 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Monaghan General Hospital, where a post-mortem is expected to take place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to make contact them.
