The ESB says due to the severity of the storm, it's still assessing the damage.

As at 2pm today, there are approximately 2,600 customers across Cavan and Monaghan without power as a result of Storm Darragh.

The ESB says it could be a week before power is restored to all customers.

Around 80 thousand homes and businesses are still without electricity this afternoon, as the clean-up operation following Storm Darragh continues.
