A local councillor has welcomed that an agreement has been reached in relation to a road safety issue in Cross in East Cavan.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly said it was welcome news that a major change will be now made to the Co Cavan crossroads.
Cllr O'Reilly requested a permanent improvement of safety at the crossroads to create a 4 way stop at the location.

He thanked area manager John McGahern and his fellow councillors for their unanimous support. Cllr O'Reilly paid tribute to the Smyth family for their generous assistance in improving the sight lines.
The local councillor said we have been left with no choice but to change the current system that's been in place. He believes this road safety measure was needed and it will potentially save people losing their lives at the crossroads.
