Over 400 homes in the Northern Sound region are waiting to have retrofitting works carried out under the Warmer Homes Scheme.
The Warmer Homes Scheme aims to improve the energy efficiency and warmth of homes owned by people at risk of energy poverty by providing fully-funded retrofits. The average waiting time for a retrofit is now between 21 and 22 months. According to figures, 270 homes in Cavan and 180 in Monaghan are waiting for retrofitting works. The figures contain homes that are awaiting an initial survey, those awaiting a contractor, those who've been allocated a contractor, and those that are currently undergoing works.
