51st annual Fermanagh Fleadh to take place this weekend

The fleadh is returning to Fermanagh after a break due to Covid-19.

The 51st annual Fermanagh Fleadh will take place this weekend.

The popular event will return for its first physical get-together since the outbreak of Covid-19, over two years ago.

The event will take place in the village of Roslea which is located on the Fermanagh/Monaghan border.

Hosted by the Roslea and Fermanagh Comhaltas branch this year, councillor Chris McCaffrey says it's "great to be back" for this wonderful celebration of Irish music, culture and identity after "two years of being locked up."

The event has been described by locals as a "weekend not to be missed" with a jam-packed programme of events across the weekend.

The traditional festival kicked off last night with the official opening concert curtesy of the Knockmore Ceili Band, in addition to this the Enniskillen Castle and Fermanagh County Museum were also illuminated green in recognition of the Fermanagh County Fleadh.
