572 Ukrainian pupils in Cavan and Monaghan schools

There are currently 572 Ukrainian students enrolled in schools across the Northern Sound region as of the start of February.

The figures were revealed as part of a parliamentary question by Deputy Jim O'Callaghan to the Minister for Education, Norma Foley.

Cavan has 287 Ukrainian children attending primary school and 135 Ukrainian pupils are enrolled in post primary schools in the county. Monaghan has 88 Ukrainian pupils attending primary schools and 62 in post primary education.
