73 people have been killed in vehicle-related incidents on farms in the last 10 years.
They continue to be the leading cause of work-related deaths on farms.
The Health and Safety Authority has launched a national safety campaign today on the safe use of tractors, machinery and quad bikes.
HSA Senior Inspector Ger Hartnett says farmers can take steps to stay safe.
He said: "The priority of the campaign is to remind farmers that most serious injuries and fatalities involving tractors and machinery are very preventable."
