Almost 100 people are on a waiting list for Endoscopy and Colonoscopy appointments in Cavan and Monaghan.
Figures provided by the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, show 59 people in Cavan and 38 in Monaghan are on these waiting lists. The number of people on the waiting list has steadily increased over the past 2 years, from 78 in 2022, to 81 last year, to 97 this year. The longest wait for appointments is for those waiting on Colonoscopy appointments, with 30 on the list this year.
According to the Health Minister, funding of €420m is being allocated to the Waiting List Action Plan for 2025 with an aim to reduce waiting times for patients.
