Monaghan County Council is hosting an open house for the Sean Ghardíní Affordable Purchase Scheme in Carrickmacross.
10 new affordable homes were approved at Sean Ghairdíní under the Affordable Purchase Scheme.
This development consists of 4 two bedroom homes and 6 three bedroom homes.
An open house event will take place later today from 4pm to 6pm, followed by an information evening at 7 pm in The Workhouse, Carrickmacross.
The application portal opens on March 20th, at 10am.
Cllr Peter Conlon said it will be extremely worthwhile for people to come to this event, particularly those in the squeezed middle.
Cllr Conlon highlighted the major demand that came with the Affordable Purchase Scheme in Monaghan Town which was rolled out earlier in the year.
He said it's important for this scheme to be just as successful, adding that there is a strong need for housing of this kind, however that need must be represented in numbers and interest in order for funding to be allocated.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Conlon has encouraged anyone who is interested to come to today's event and find out more about the scheme.
