Agriculture Minister called on to be more ambitious in backing young farmers

The Minister for Agriculture is being called on to have more ambition in supporting young farmers.

Charlie McConalogue was in Ballyjamesduff Mart yesterday as part of his nationwide CAP consultation events.

Over 100 hundred farmers listened to him from the sales ring, and had their opportunity to tell him what they feel the next five-year policy should invest in.

Former Macra na Feirme President Thomas Duffy welcomed the Minister making himself available to local farmers, but said he must take on-board what was said.

ICMSA Deputy President and Bailieborough native Lorcan McCabe welcomed the discussion but
wasn't sure if solutions were found.
