All libraries in County Cavan will close at 4 o'clock today. The decision to close all branches was taken as a mark of respect following the death of a member of library staff.
Marleen Kennedy was branch librarian at Bailieborough and Kingscourt Libraries. The wife and mother passed away on December 21st and a gathering to remember Marleen is planned for between 3 and 5pm today at a Cavan funeral home.
Describing Marleen as "our dear friend and colleague" Cavan County Library Service decided to close all libraries in County Cavan early today "as a mark of respect".
