Tributes have been paid to Aoife Lennon who lost her life in a collision in Monaghan on Wednesday.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to collision that occurred at Castleshane just outside Monaghan Town on Wednesday afternoon.
The collision involving a car and a truck occurred on the N2 at approximately 2:45pm that afternoon.
Aoife is a native off Derrynoose in County Armagh and was married to a local Garda officer. Councillor Niamh Mc Cooey says the close-knit community share in a collective grief that words can scarcely capture.
She said the loss of such a young life is felt deeply by all who knew her, and by the wider community who mourn alongside her family. Cllr McCooey who is a native of Castleshane said her thoughts and prayers at with Aoife's family as they face an unimaginable loss and the heartbreak that comes with it.
