Political analyst, Johnny Fallon has said that there was nothing "ground-breaking" in last night's presidential debate that will have "influenced the vote in any particular way".
He said that it was quite clear going into the debate that Catherine Connolly has a huge lead, and that Heather Humphreys needed to find a "got-ya moment".
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Fallon said that Humphreys put in an "alright performance", but there was nothing "ground-breaking" in the debate.
Mr. Fallon explained that Heather Humphreys was trying to make Catherine Connolly answer some questions, but that both candidates threw caution to the wind at times.
He said: "Heather Humphreys was trying to make way in the debate, and to make Catherine Connolly answer some questions, which has not really happened to this point.
"Catherine Connolly has been very good at avoiding some of those questions, and avoiding the issues.
"At the same time, there has been some pressure put on Heather Humphreys, particularly about some of the issues in her own constituency," Mr. Fallon added.
