Fáilte Ireland's "Ancient East" brand is not working.
That's according to Monaghan councillor Sean Conlon, who has sought a meeting with the tourism body.
A recent Freedom of Information request revealed that Fáilte Ireland had expressed "concern" about the Ancient East brand because it was "too large" and "stretched credibility".

Monaghan is part of the Ancient East brand, which stretches all the way down to Cork.
Sean Conlon said Monaghan's inclusion is "ill-fitted" and passed a motion calling on Fáilte Ireland to meet the County Council regarding its inclusion in the Ancient East tourism brand.
