The annual and much loved Feile Patrick Byrne Festival is returning to Co Monaghan this weekend with a jam packed line up of events.
Concerts are taking place at a number of locations in and around Carrickmacross, bringing the best in traditional Irish music and dance to audiences from around the country.
Now in its 19th year and which is organised by Comhaltas Carrickmacross, the event celebrates the life of local man, Patrick Byrne.
Proceedings kicked off on Thursday night and run until next Tuesday
Organiser, Seán Ó'Roideáin, told Shannonside Northern Sound that there will be something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
He added that the venues chosen boast that intimate and small setting which affords an opportunity for the best acoustics to emerge.
Seán says this weekend afford the community and further afield celebrate the life of the local man.
