A man in his 20s has died in a crash near Oldcastle.
The car he was driving crashed at Boolies close to the Cavan/Meath border at about 20 past 2 this morning. The sole occupant of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
The road is currently closed with local diversions in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been notified.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
