Gardai have appeared for witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred in Monaghan Town.
A 47-year-old man has from the injuries he sustained in the collision in Monaghan earlier this month.
The man was struck by a car on the Broad Road shortly before 1am on Saturday the 6th of September.
The pedestrian was taken from the scene by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was treated for serious injuries. Gardaí confirmed that he died in hospital over the weekend.
Gardaí continue to investigate the collision and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They particularly want to speak to any road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage, including dash-cam to contact them.
