Appeal issued over two Cavan house break-ins

A rear patio door was smashed, and a quantity of cash was stolen.

Gardai are appealing for information over two separate house thefts which were reported in Co Cavan.

According to Garda Lisa Stevens, the thefts were reported in Bailieboro and Baillinagh. Gardai in Bailieboro are investigating a burglary which occurred in Griffith Park, Cootehill.

The incident took place on the 1st of October between the hours of 1.30pm and 9pm.

The homeowner returned home to find the front door unlocked and on entering their home found that the ground floor had been ransacked. A glass panel in the rear door was smashed to gain entry.

Following further inspection by the homeowner it was obvious that the bedroom was rifled and a quantity of jewellery was taken. Gardai would like to hear from anyone with information or who noticed anything suspicious on those dates in Griffith Park to get in touch.

Elsewhere, a burglary occurred on the 4th of October in the townland of Corr, Ballinagh. According to Gardai, the incident took place between 6pm and 8pm.

A rear patio door was smashed, and a quantity of cash was stolen. A small dark coloured car with two males was cited in the area around the time of the burglary.

Gardai would like to hear from anyone with information to get in touch with the Garda Detective Unit in Cavan.
