Concerns have been raised over damage caused to a wildlife sign beside the river on the Drummully Road.
The sign was vandalised on Tuesday night and had to be removed by volunteers for safety reasons.
In a statement posted online, Emyvale Tidy Towns said it was "sad and annoyed" for the many volunteers who have given their time and enthusiasm to the local area.
The incident has been reported to Gardaí and an appeal has been issued to the public.
Anyone with information on this incident or who was in the Emyvale area last night and noticed any suspicious activity is asked to come forward.
You can contact the local Tidy Towns group or alternatively you can contact Emyvale Garda Station on 047 87222.
