The Cavan Roads Policing Unit have conducted a number of vehicle checkpoints in various parts of the county in recent days.
As a result of the operation, a number of drunk and drug drivers were arrested.
According to Gardaí reports, one motorist in the Arva area turned from a checkpoint only to be stopped moments later.

This particular driver had no insurance, tax or NCT on his car which was taken off the road.
He received Fixed Charged Penalty Notices for some offences and like the other drivers detected he too faces a Court appearance.
