Mountnugent GAA say they are shocked to hear of the malicious attack on the premises of Donna McQuaid Pharmacy Oldcastle.
An investigation is now under way into the suspected arson attack which caused extensive damage to the pharmacy in the early hours of yesterday morning.
In a statement online last night by Mountnugent GAA they said we express our sorrow to Donna and her staff on this traumatic experience.
Donna and her crew have provided fantastic support to all of us in Mountnugent GAA whether it through generous sponsorship or individually to our members.
The pharmacy is owned by Donna McQuaid, who has been running it for over 20 years. The pharmacy adjoins the Oldcastle Court Hotel, whose owner had previously enquired with authorities about using it as an IPAS centre.
Local Sinn Féin TD Johnny Guirke condemned the attack saying that this cowardly act has no place in Oldcastle and must be unequivocally rejected by everyone who lives there.
