Australians have been listening to the rescue call from 13 year old Austin Applebee - who saved his Irish mum (from Magheracloone in Co. Monaghan), brother and sister, by swimming for help when they were swept out to sea.
The teenagers' already been hailed a hero after getting back to shore to raise the alarm, but rescue chiefs have now confirmed his phone-call was vital in locating his family.
With Joanne Appelbee's permission, Police have released the audio of the call, saying Austin was exhausted and scared, but still managed to keep calm and clear on the phone.
Austin said: "I had to swim about four kilometres facing the current. I'm extremely tired, I've got heat stroke, and I feel like I'm about to pass out- very dizzy."
